Newcastle to Dungog charity bike ride

Saturday 11 September

Join the inaugural Rotary Newcastle to Dungog charity bike ride. The 90km ride starts from Nobby's Beach car park, with a staggered start from 6.30am to 7am, and finishes at Dowling Street, Dungog. Entry is $50 plus train fare via online registration. 75% net proceeds to HMRI, 25% Newcastle Rotary charity work.

Erskineville Public School P&C presents Deals on Wheels: great day of bikes, fun recycling, food, music and more.

Have you got an old bike, trike, scooter hanging around? Donate it to Deals on wheels - we'll fix it up and recycle it & you can get a new bike too!

BBQ, cakes, live music, bike mechanics, novelty races, unicycle hockey, Penny Farthing rides.

BCU Coffs Coast Cycle Challenge

Take part on the inaugural Coffs Coast Cycle Challenge on Sunday 19 September. Planned to be an annual ride, this year's offers 7 categories including solo, teams of three, tandem, recumbent and similar.
It's an easy 25, 50 or 75 km ride and the cost is $25, $50 and$75.

Gear up Girl – Tweed Coast

Girls, grab your friends and get on your bikes because Gear Up Girl is coming to the Tweed Coast, proudly supported by Tweed Shire Council and Royal Brisbane Children's Hospital.

In true Gear up Girl style, there are two ride options to choose from: 25km starting at Boatharbour Park, Fingal Head; and 15km starting at the Salts Park, Chinderah. Both cross the finish line at Ambrose Brown Park with a festival-style finish

Goulburn Grand Prix Cycle Challenge

Volunteers play a vital role in making the NSW Government Spring Cycle a success; in fact the event simply wouldn't be possible without the hard work and dedication of our team of Volunteers. This year we need a record 500+ fantastic volunteers, working together to provide a safe and fun, recreational cycling event for all of Sydney to enjoy.

There are numerous ways that you can help out including:

12-hour challenge

Sunday 21 November

This isn't for the feint hearted! A 2km demanding, cycling specific outdoor race track. And we're asking participants to pull together a team of fellow lycra lovers and to cycle around the legendary Heffron Park cycle track for 12 (cumulative) hours on Sunday 21 November 2010. Working in teams of 4, each team will take on the challenge of pushing their own personal limits as well as helping to raise funds for Supported Living Network www.sln.org.au

NSW Rickshaw Riders Needed!

The Great Aussie Rickshaw Ride. 14 July - 19 September

The Great Aussie Rickshaw Ride is a unique journey to focus attention on global poverty and the Millennium Development Goals. The ride enters NSW at Tweed Heads on 21 July and arrives in Newcastle on 7 Aug. In between there are plenty of opportunities to take part in this unique and worthwhile event.

Coast to Coast for Kids

Coast_to_Coast.jpgFounders and novice cyclists, David Bonne and Scott Gilbertson will be cycling 3,000km in 30 days from Cooktown to Sydney to raise awareness and funding (target of $200,000) for the Tumbatin Clinic - Sydney Children Hospital Randwick (they provide early diagnosis and assessment of children from mental disabilities/autism, there is currently a 6 month waiting list on early detection and treatment, the clinic also provides weekly parent support groups) and the Bonnie Babes Foundation (who provide funding to fertility research and support parents with the grief of miscarriage, stillbirth and premature births).
