Road Works
Please be advised that works are currently underway for the Delhi Road - Epping Chatswood Rail Link; Ford Civil Contracting has been employed to conduct the landscaping and roadworks at the front of the new train station. To minimise traffic impacts, the works will be conducted in stages, with the final stage expected to conclude early 2009. These works will necessitate the temporary closure of the bicycle path on the South Side of Delhi Road, opposite the Macquarie Park Cemetary and Crematorium. (just past the Motorway, adjacent to the new station entrance.) Please advise any riders that may be using this path regularly to be aware of the changed road conditions, as they may need to plan alternate routes while the works are conducted. If you have any queries regarding the project, please do not hesitate to call 95974122 or email plevy@fordcivil.com.au . Regards, Paul Levy Site Engineer/Community Consultation Ford Civil Contracting Pty Ltd

A Place for Cyclists
The NSW Injury Risk Management Research Centre and the City of Sydney are hosting a seminar and discussion, "A Place for Cyclist" Strategies for Promoting Safety" in Sydney on Friday 5th September 2008.
We plan to end the day with a discussion of ways forward for promoting safety around cycling. The discussion will be based on the day’s presentations as well as input from stakeholders. We would appreciate your input to this discussion of the question “What can be done to optimize injury risks associated with cycling in public areas? (considering pedestrian/cycle interactions, the values of risky behaviour, promotion of shared respect)”.
If you send a brief statement in response to this question (max. 250 words) to j.hatfield@unsw.edu.au we will compile it into a summary of suggestions to be presented at the beginning of the discussion.
