Bicycle NSW greatly benefitted from the engineering expertise of the late Ray Rice OAM.  Ray was our CEO from 2015-16 and an invaluable Advocacy Consultant between 2017 and 2020.

Ray Rice (left) was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia shortly before his early death in 2021. Ray and his wife Sue (right, riding the Spring Cycle) were lifelong cyclists who supported bicycle events and initiatives over many decades.

We have created ‘Ray’s Corner’ to celebrate his life and contribution, and enable everyone in the community to better advocate for improved bike riding infrastructure.

This page is a great place to find our recent content about policy, strategy and design guidelines.  There are links to important documents and deep dives into issues such as e-bike safety, street design, speed limits, parking policy and road space reallocation.
