Paramedics and Police were called to Canterbury Road near Chapel Road at around 10:30pm on Saturday night after a man, believed to be in his 50’s, was hit by a driver.

In spite of the best efforts of the emergency services, the rider did not survive.

Bankstown Police will investigate and prepare a report for the Coroner.

“Bicycle NSW wishes to share our condolences with the friends and family of the rider,” said Bicycle NSW General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.

“Every death on our roads is one too many, and we will continue calling on the NSW Government to deliver more infrastructure and education so everyone arrives home safely,” said Bastien.
