Need to brush up on your riding skills or want to teach your children to ride? Our event has you covered. Or why not learn how to maintain your bike, or learn about the cycling infrastructure around Olympic Park. 

All activities are FREE but you will need to register. 

Join us on Sunday, September 22 for all things bike riding.

You are required require to bring your own working bike to all events. Please make sure you give your bike a check before arriving on the day, by following these steps. Park Bikes is able to help with ensuring your bike is safe to ride through a quick safety check prior to your riding event.

If you do not have a bike, we recommend hiring a bike from the Bike Hire in Bicentennial Park.

Bicycle Safety Check

Before jumping on your bike, get the expert bike mechanics at Park Bikes to give your bike a health check. You can always join them for a maintenance course and learn for yourself! 

This will be available between 8:30 am – 10:30 am and 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm.


Riding Skills 

Try Two Wheels 

Ideal for children who want to progress on from training wheels, and also to those who want to gain more skills and confidence on their two wheel bike. 

Age: 5-12

Times:  9:00 am – 9:45 am and 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm 

Capacity: 15 per session

 

Safe Riding for Women

Brush up on your riding skills in a safe and friendly environment through this course.  Our friendly instructor has years of experience working with women to rediscover the joys of bike riding. 

 Time: 10:00 am – 11:00 am

Capacity: 15 riders

Join the Sydney Cycling Sisters afterwards for a short ride.

Please note, this course is the same as the "Adults Safety Course".

Adult Safety Course

Haven’t ridden in a while? Join our course to brush up on your skills and gain confidence to ride throughout the year. Our qualified instructor will teach how to ride safely by developing knowledge, skills and confidence in a safe, flat environment. 

Time: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm 

Capacity: 15 riders

Bicycle Maintenance Course

Learn how to keep your bike in tip top shape for riding. Park Bikes, the bike experts, will be teaching a small group how to:

  • Give a bike a check over before riding
  • Change a tyre
  • Lubricate a bike chain 

Time:  11:00 am – 12:00 pm (2 sessions, 1 for adults and 1 for children)

Capacity: 15 for each session

 


18km Bridge to Bridge

Cycle along the Parramatta Valley Cycleway and learn about all the hidden gems along the way. Starting at Bicentennial Park, this ride will go through Rhodes, over the John Whitton Bridge up to Silverwater Bridge and return to Bicentennial Park. This ride will be lead by a qualified ride leader at a slow, comfortable pace. 

Capacity: 20 people

Age Limit: 16 + (children under 16 on tagalongs are accepted) 

Time: 9:15 am – 10:45 am 

Length: 18 km, with a few short breaks along the way

Ride Surface: Shared path, with short distance on quiet roads
