The woman was hit by a truck near Boambee on the NSW North Coast Highway.

In spite of the best efforts of paramedics and a nurse providing emergency first aid, the woman could not be saved.

NSW Police are diverting south bound traffic on the Pacific Highway near Sawtell, and drivers are reminded to be patient as police conduct their investigations.

“Every death on the roads in NSW is one too many,” said Bicycle NSW General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.

This Boambee fatality brings the bike rider fatality to 12 this year on NSW roads.

“We join with NSW Ambulance in calling on all road users to look out for the safety of others”, said Bastien.
