On Saturday, 20th November, 140 cyclists and volunteer crew rode 155kms in the 6th Bondi2Berry Ride to Remember, to raise awareness and research funding to cure dementia.
The Bondi2Berry Ride started at the North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club, rode out of Sydney’s eastern suburbs and through parts of the Royal National Park to Wollongong. Riders stopped in Kiama, a dementia friendly community, for lunch and finished in Berry on the NSW south coast that afternoon.
Since it began in 2016, the Bondi2Berry Ride to Remember has raised more than $750,000 for Dementia Australia. This money has helped support two vital research projects, as well as directly assisting people impacted by dementia.
Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia, and the leading cause of death among women. In 2020, an estimated 472,000 Australians were living with the condition.

“This is a great ride for a great cause. I have had the pleasure of participating in the Bondi2Berry Ride in 2019 and supporting Dementia Australia,” said Angie Macken, Bicycle NSW Membership Sales Specialist.
“Save the date for the Bondi2Berry Gala Dinner, an evening in support of a cause that is close to my heart," says Angie.
Bicycle NSW encourages everyone to get involved in a charity ride as they raise much needed funds for worthy causes. If you don't ride, you can always volunteer! Please check the charity ride listing on our website.
