The 72 year old man was riding on Wilfred Barrett Drive, Magenta on the 6th of June when he was hit around 1:30pm by a Hyundai driven by a 66-year old woman.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics, and airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he later died.  Tuggerah Lakes Police are investigating and will prepare a report for the Coroner.

Hours later two cars collided on the same road and the crash resulted in serious injuries and specialist police from the crash investigation unit were called.

“We are deeply saddened by the death of this rider and share our condolences with his family and friends,” said Bicycle NSW General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.

“Bicycle NSW is especially concerned that two serious crashes have occurred on this road on the same day and we await the outcome of Police investigations to determine whether measures can be taken to improve road safety,” said Bastien.
