Bicycle NSW wishes to convey its condolences to the family and friends of a male rider who died following a crash yesterday on the Pacific Highway at Cheero Point on the NSW Central Coast.

Around 9:50am yesterday (Sunday 21 February 2021) the 59 year old man was riding with a group of cyclists along the Pacific Highway when he hit the Armco railing.  In spite of the first aid efforts of Traffic and Highway Patrol officers he died of his injuries at the scene.

Officers from Brisbane Waters Police Area Command established a crime scene, are investigating and will prepare a brief for the Coroner.

“On behalf of Bicycle NSW and its members, we share our condolences to family and friends of the rider,” said Bicycle NSW General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.

 “We await the outcome of the coronial hearing, to determine whether more could be done to make this road safer for bike riders,” said Bastien.
