By Train / Metro
Due to track work, the recommendations are to cycle back to Sydney Olympic Park to head East, or Parramatta station to head West or to change at Glenfield for other lines.
Please note that the Parramatta River cycleway and the ride route will be closed to riders who have finished so we have provided an alternative riding route.
Heading East
If you are travelling home towards the city/north shore be aware that trackwork from Parramatta will affect your trip – You can ride to Olympic Park station (approx 10km) to connect with trains towards the city which will run frequently.
Alternatively catch T5 Line trains from Westmead or Parramatta to Glenfield to connect with T8 Line trains to the city (please note this will add approx 45min to your trip). See below for Heading West.
We've summarised the track work at How to get to and from Spring Cycle 2026.
Heading West
There is no trackwork on lines heading West from Parramatta station.
How to ride back to a ferry terminal
Easiest ferry terminal to get to is Parramatta. Please note there is limited bike space on ferries and the number of bikes allowed may be limited.
By Light Rail
Light Rail is not recommended due to the amount of crowds, however, if Light Rail is the necessary option for you, the closest station is Westmead Hospital. From Carlingford, it's a 5km to the Metro station at Epping.
