BayBUG was formed on 16th May 2001 and became incorporated during September 2004. They are affiliated with Bicycle New South Wales and work with them and other Bicycle User Groups (BUGs) to improve cycling conditions in Sydney.

BayBUG was formed to promote the use of bicycles for transport and recreation, as a means to improve quality of life and protect our environment.

BayBUG’s advocacy work is concentrated in the City of Canada Bay council area which spans the suburbs of: Rhodes, Liberty Grove, Concord West, North Strathfield, Concord, Mortlake, Breakfast Point, Cabarita, Canada Bay, Five Dock, Rodd Point, Wareemba, Russell Lea, Abbotsford, Chiswick, Drummoyne.

BayBUG’s activities include working with local councils, the RTA and other bodies that provide for cyclists in and around Canada Bay, to improve and create safe cycling routes.  Membership is open to anyone who is interested in furthering the group’s objectives.  BayBUG conducts regular weekend and occasional weekday rides.
