After delays last year, the 2021 NSW Police Legacy Remembrance Bike ride is finally going ahead! The NSW Police Legacy Remembrance Bike Ride departs Sydney on 29th April 2022 and is an important fundraising event for NSW Police Legacy. This year they are bringing in a number of satellite rides to ensure everyone can be involved.

Bicycle NSW Board Director, former Police officer and ride committee member, Raff Del Vecchio, commented how the NSW Police community are one of our key stakeholders and part of our focus is to develop stronger links and partnerships. Raff will be lining up for his sixth ride and views this ride as one of the premier charity rides on the calendar.

Once again Bicycle NSW is proud to be partnering with this incredible ride to support the Police community and to be providing riders with important riders insurance through Bicycle NSW's great membership program.

In addition to being a source of fundraising for the charity, the NSW Police Legacy’s Chair Dept Superintendent, Gary Merryweather, believes that the ride holds deeper importance for many riders. As many attendees are police or ex-police, some of whom suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, the ride provides a vital source of connection to community and purpose. Further it raises much needed funds to support widows and dependent children of Police officers who are no longer with us.

Bicycle NSW Chair, Melinda Tarrant said, “Bicycle NSW has supported this wonderful cause for many years. We have a very good working relationship with NSW Police and look forward to that continuing. Advocacy and rider safety are important objectives of our work and a strong relationship with NSW Police assists in furthering those strategies.”

The Remembrance Ride on April 29 - May 1, 2022 is strictly capped at 120 riders who have close ties to the police family. Riders depart from the Domain, Sydney and finish in Canberra where a moving ceremony takes place at the National Police Memorial.
