Bicycle NSW wishes to convey its condolences to the family and friends of a man who died riding his bike on Parramatta Road in Leichhardt.
The rider was hit by a large truck at around 1pm and in spite of the efforts of emergency services he died.
Officers from the Inner West Police Are a Command have established a crime scene and are investigating and the driver of the truck has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and there are traffic diversions in place.
“This is appalling news, and it is shocking having to share the news of a second rider fatality today,” said General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.
“Please slow down on the roads and look out for bike riders,” said Bastien.
Again Bicycle NSW continues to call on road users to check their speed and keep each other safe.
