Now that NSW vaccination rates have hit 80%, and the regulations have been amended, the plan for reopening is clear.

Group rides

Bike riders who are fully vaccinated will now be able to ride in groups and plan trips between Greater Sydney and the regions from the 1st of November.  Outdoor events with COVID-safe plans will be allowed for groups of up to 200 fully vaccinated people, and larger events can be planned if approved.

For most riding groups this will mean normal activities can resume, and members can look forward to events returning and holiday plans.  Bicycle NSW will return to more normal writing and activities, but we thank members for their support during this challenging time.

“Whether it’s back to 100km training rides, trips to different parks or pedalling to visit friends or places you’ve missed, have a wonderful spring and summer,” said Bicycle NSW General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.

“We remind riders to keep a lookout. Storms and high winds may mean paths and roads have debris and fallen branches in need of removal,” said Bastien.
