Will you saddle up for the commute on Wednesday 15 October?
National Ride To Work Day is Australia’s biggest celebration of commuter riding. It’s an opportunity to encourage new riders to try riding to work and celebrate those who already commute by bike.
This year Bicycle NSW is celebrating with a breakfast in Pyrmont. Come and join us on your way into Sydney's CBD!
Many of our local Bicycle User Groups are running group rides for the morning commute, and some councils are hosting events such as bike tune-ups with coffee.
Read on to find out more about the events and rides that we are aware of. Please let us know if there is something happening in your corner of NSW and we’ll add it to the list!

Why ride to work?
Riding a bike is one of the easiest and most time-efficient ways to get to work. By swapping the car for a bike, you can get your recommended daily exercise without having to spend extra time or money at the gym. And it’s fun! You’ll be happier and healthier for it.
As you can imagine, Bicycle NSW has written quite a lot of articles on the benefits of riding a bike for the commute.
Start with Why ride to work? and then head to our Bikes are Best page for a full archive of posts on the physical, economic and environmental reasons to cycle.
One bike rider has gone even further and drawn up a list of 101 benefits of cycling!
