Bicycle NSW’s home state offers a huge range of bike riding adventures. From the lush rainforests of the north-east to the rugged Snowy Mountains, from the stunning beaches lining to coast to the harsh but exhilarating outback, New South Wales has terrain to suit everyone.

Start planning your next trip with this directory of top rides.  If you have joined the e-bike revolution, you may want to tackle longer distances and bigger hills on one of these e-bike rides.

Although the development of rail trails has got off to a slow start in NSW, there are some great options including the Northern Rivers Rail Trail, the Fernleigh Track in the Hunter, and the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trial.

The rising star of the NSW bike touring scene is the Central West Cycle trail. The 400 km loop passes the major towns of Mudgee, Dubbo and Wellington and a handful of scenic smaller ones such as Gulgong, Dunedoo, Mendooran and Ballimore. Launched in 2020 by a group of volunteers, the CWC trail has become an iconic, must-do ride.

Our #RideTheBush campaign encouraged riders to support regional NSW through a tough drought followed by bushfires, the pandemic and flood. Getting out into the countryside and spending your holiday dollars in NSW will help communities recover from recent disasters.

Relax and enjoy this wide-ranging selection of articles about rides in NSW. Many routes have been added to our Rides Map. Note that some articles are a little old now. It is important to some research before setting out to ensure that the route is good to go.

We are always keen to add new and updated rides to the ride inspiration archives and the map so please send us your trip stories and ideas.
