Education For All Road Users
Over recent months, we’ve seen an increase in people riding bikes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. People turned to bikes as a way of avoiding crowds on public transport, needing to find a new way to exercise due to gyms being closed.
Pop-up cycleways and lower speed zones have provided safer riding routes, reducing barriers for some. Sadly COVID-19 also interrupted NSW Centre for Road Safety and Bicycle NSW joint road safety campaign efforts.
“It’s great to see so many more people riding bikes, and we know there’s a pressing need for a high quality road safety campaign to meet their needs,” said Bicycle NSW Communications Manager, Kim Lavender.
“Until joint efforts can resume, Bicycle NSW has developed an education campaign to make a better environment for bike riders,” said Kim.
