About Spring Cycle
Spring Cycle is the only event that closes lanes of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and dedicates that space to bike riders. By providing a safe place to ride, we see a variety of riders from novice to experienced, from families to people living with disability all joining in the fun and enjoying life on a bike.
To us, Spring Cycle is not just about providing a one-off experience, it encourages people to keep riding after the event as a fun form of recreation or transport.
Spring Cycle Event Management
For 2022, Bicycle NSW has partnered with CSM Sports & Entertainment to run Spring Cycle.
CSM has a wealth of experience organising events and brand activations across the globe. From the World Rugby 7s series for HSBC to fan festivals at the Super Bowl to managing the LGBT Community Centre Cycle for the Cause, just to name a few.
The Sydney-based CSM team is a passionate group of people who love bike riding. They understand that bike riding is for everyone and want to highlight this in Spring Cycle 2022.
Spring Cycle 2022 Course
In 2022, we’re thrilled to bring back the 10km City Ride and the 50km Classic Ride.
In more exciting news, we will also include adaptive cycling for Spring Cycle. The event will be accessible to all by bike, including children and adults living with a disability. Again, breaking boundaries, Spring Cycle will be the first recreational bike ride with a disability wave, giving everyone access to cycling, and pedalling the iconic event in the heart of Sydney.
“After Spring Cycle 2020 and 2021 were cancelled due to COVID-19, we are thrilled the event will be back in 2022 and backed by the CSM powerhouse. With so many people taking up riding during the pandemic, we want Spring Cycle to encourage people to keep on cycling,” said Peter McLean, Bicycle NSW CEO.
“Riders will get to soak up the atmosphere and experience riding over the Sydney Harbour Bridge’s roadway, traffic-free. You’ll get to see Sydney like never before and it isn't to be missed.”
