The NSW Greens have announced their $1 billion pledge to get more people riding bikes.

The Hon. Ms Cate Faherman MP has consistently supported safe cycling, cycling infrastructure and has questioned both The Hon Andrew Constance MP Minister for Transport, and The Hon Melinda Pavey MP Minister for Roads and Maritime Services on crucial issues for bike riders.

"The NSW Government has neglected cycling and cycling infrastructure for too long - cycling rates in NSW are decreasing, and injuries are on the rise,” said Greens MP and Spokesperson for Active Transport, Cate Faehrmann.

“Encouraging people to get out of their cars and onto bikes is a no brainer – but it can’t happen without government leadership, planning and funding," said Cate.

Bicycle NSW applauds the NSW Greens for their commitment not only to the quantum of funding necessary to achieve real change, but also to a plan that prioritises delivery.

"This is the kind of change we need in NSW to address congestion, inactivity, road safety and pollution," said Bicycle NSW General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.

"We encourage everyone who rides to share this plan with their local electoral candidates.  Your voice is having an impact," said Bastien.
