We are pleased to announce that Snowy Valleys Council have begun design, and will shortly begin construction, of the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail.

The planned completion is set for 2020 and this rail trail will provide a test case and lessons to help the development of other rail trails in NSW.

Bicycle NSW lent its voice in support of the efforts by Snowy Valleys Council, Tumbarumba Community, Friends of the Rail Trail and the Historical Society to get the trail built.

The process of transferring the land to council, dealing with biosecurity compliance for adjoining farms and planning under and overpasses has added complications and delays.

“We were pleased to support the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail and efforts to make this beautiful part of the Snowy Valleys accessible to more people,” said Bicycle NSW CEO, Alistair Ferguson.

“This creates another great destination for people travelling within and to NSW, as well as a brilliant active recreation space for the local community,” said Alistair.

Bicycle NSW supports rail trails and the opportunities they provide for bike riding and active recreation.
