Over the past 19 years members and friends of St George BUG have been enjoying rides across NSW.

“Starting from a small group gathering once a month to cycle in the St George area, we have grown to an incorporated club affiliated with Bicycle NSW, with voluntary committee members and ride leaders, cycling twice a month on weekends as well as various weekday rides,’ explained BUG Vice-President, Natalie Cleary.

“We ride for fitness, fun, meeting new people, enjoying each other’s company and to share our knowledge of different cycle paths.”

“We vary our rides as much as possible so we’re always covering new ground, not only in Sydney but also the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Wollongong areas. When new riders join us, they are always amazed at the amount of cycle routes available.”

St George BUG’s rides are social and mostly around 40kms in length.

“Some of our rides can be hilly and challenging, but you’ll always know beforehand what the ride will be like, so you can opt in or out.”

You can find their rides on the St George BUG website or on the Bicycle NSW calendar

“For the type of cycle path riding we do, a hybrid is probably the most suitable. We always stop for coffee en route, and if the ride is over a long distance, we’ll stop for lunch too. Hope you can join us!”
