Bicycle NSW wishes to convey its condolences to the family and friends of a woman who died yesterday whilst on a bike ride.

Bike riding celebrating

The body of the 42 year old woman was found yesterday in shallow water near her bicycle around 250m south of the Spike Milligan Bridge on Brisbane Water Drive at Woy Woy. Emergency services attended the scene around 2.10pm (Sunday 15 August 2021), but she could not be revived.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District are investigating, and are appealing for information from anyone who may have been walking or riding in the area and noticed the woman riding a purple bike.  If you have information or dashcam footage you are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the rider, and we share our condolences on behalf of Bicycle NSW and its members,” said Bicycle NSW General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.
