Your Donation Can Help Us Reach Our Target of $25000 towards a greater Schools Active Travel Program in NSW!
Bicycle NSW was excited to visit several schools in 2024 to encourage the adoption of active travel programs. Although we did not meet our target, we successfully raised funds to assist numerous schools in creating their active travel plans and establishing safe routes to school. This initiative included Glenbrook Public School and Glenwood High School, and we are currently crafting a guide to help schools develop their own safe routes. Nevertheless, this is not sufficient. We aspire to provide much more support and assistance to schools, so we urge you to help now. Your generous support is crucial for fostering significant change.
Currently only 14.5% of students in NSW walk or ride to school and for the sake of our kids health, community and the planet, this statistic must change. Bicycle NSW is requesting generous tax deductible donations from members and supporters to help fund a schools active travel program and inspire more students to walk or ride to school.
Your generous and tax deductible donation will:
- Trial bike buses to and from school to enable Bicycle NSW to rollout a safe community and school lead bike bus framework.
- Help inspire others to contribute to fund this program including philanthropists and the NSW Government.
- A $20 donation could be leveraged to 5-10 fold and make a real impact.
- Deliver face to face schools workshops
- Deliver active active transport plans to schools to increase participation, improve infrastructure and create safe routes for walking riding.
- Help Bicycle NSW to continue to advocate to the State Government to fund a long term Schools Active Travel program.
- Give the gift of active travel to young people so they too can lead healthy, autonomous and environmentally conscious lives.
