Cycle Speed Dating

Forget swiping right and join Bicycle NSW for Cycle Speed Dating.
Yes, you read this right, this is speed dating on bikes.

“It was a really great way to meet people. The cycling really takes the awkwardness of speed dating out of it”

Cycle Speed Dating is back after it's great success last year. Sydneysiders will get the chance to meet other singles in a relaxed environment.

You will get to chat a few minutes to 15-20 riders of the other gender while pedaling around.

After the ride you have the opportunity to chat a bit more to the riders while enjoying a drink of Young Henrys.

Once you have made up your mind, you fill out our match forms to let us know who you would like to be matched with. Our cupid's will compare forms after the event and email you through the matches.

This Cycle Speed Dating event is for guys who want to meet gals and gals who want to meet guys. The costs are $20, which includes an after-ride drink.

So, block out this Saturday afternoon, give your bike a clean, find your helmet and register for this unique event.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to purchase my ticket in advance?
Yes, please buy your ticket in advance, we want to get the balance right between the number of men and women. Please book your ticket as soon as possible. Tickets available via the links above.

How far will the ride be? And at what speed?
The total distance for the ride will be around 25km. It is a very easy paced ride and we will stick together as a group the entire way.

How does the actual Cycle Speed Dating work?
Our speed dating ride will happen around Centennial Park. The men are the ones that will move from date to date. Every 4 min Cupid will ring her bell as a sign that the men need to move on to their next date. The group will ride two abreast; the women ride on the left side and the men on the right side. When it is time to change date, the men will roll forward to their next date, while the women stay in the same line.

Can I bring a friend?
It's great to go on a speed dating session with a group of friends. You will surely make some memories! Everyone attending the event needs to hold a ticket.

I bought a ticket, now what?
Please wait for an email confirmation. We will send you an email with all details a few days before the event.

Can I attend on my own?
Yes, this is the place to meet like-minded people and maybe even a very special person. If you are coming on your own then please do not be scared as there will be awesome souls around this evening. We are in it together.

It's my first time, what's a speed date like?
A speed date is a short date. This way you can meet several people with similar interests in one evening. The dates last three to four minutes, which is often enough to find out if you would like to see someone again.

What happens if I like someone during the event?
Everyone attending the event will receive a piece of paper on which you can let us know if you would like to meet someone again. After the event we will email you to let you know if there was a match. A match is when you both want to see each other again. And of course, if you want, you can tell someone you like him/her during the event!

Does age matter?
Age is just a number, but based on experiences and feedback, we have decided to organise have these events for certain age groups. However we are always taking EOI and keen to organise more of them. Please email us at if you would like to let us know you’re keen to more of these Cycle Speed Dating events.

What do I wear?
Come as you are.

What does my ticket include?
Your ticket includes a free drink, our cupido hosting the event and an email afterwards with your matches.

I find it hard to start a conversation with a stranger, help?
We have chosen a wonderful location for the event which will make you feel at ease. And don't forget you probably have three things in common to start with: you're a cyclist, a Sydneysider and you're single!
