With the number of COVID-19 cases growing in NSW, the Government has implemented a number of restrictions to keep people safe.

Lockdown Areas

People who live in, or have worked in Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick and the City of Sydney Local Government Areas in the past two weeks, will be locked down.

From 11:59 tonight, people in LGAs subjected to lockdown conditions will only be able to leave home for:

  • Work if you can’t work from home
  • Exercise in groups of 10 or less outdoors
  • Education if it can’t be done from home
  • To buy essential goods or services
  • To provide essential care to someone

People should only enter the four LGAs for essential purposes. We strongly recommend you do not ride through these LGAs until the Government has eased restrictions.

If you live or work in the City of Sydney, Waverley, Randwick, Canada Bay, Inner West, Bayside, and Woollahra local government areas, you cannot travel outside metropolitan Sydney for non-essential reasons. Residents across greater Sydney should also limit unnecessary activity and avoid large gatherings in coming days and comply with the current restrictions.

Residents across greater Sydney should also limit unnecessary activity and avoid large gatherings in coming days and comply with the current restrictions.  These measures will apply for at least a week, but this timeframe may be extended depending on their success.

Public Health Orders

New public health orders were issued on the 23rd of June, but we expect there will be amendments.  We will update you if NSW Sport provides new information.

Mask Wearing

Masks will be required in indoor places and on public transport until midnight on Friday, July 2 for Greater Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Illawarra, Wollongong and Shellharbour regions.

We encourage all riders to carry a mask with them when cycling in these areas, just in case they need to stop at any point of their ride. Even if you aren’t planning to stop, mechanical or medical events may occur and you’ll need to have a mask ready.

Outside Greater Sydney

If you do not live in the Greater Sydney region, no new restrictions apply. However, we recommend being diligent including following social distancing principles, not visiting Greater Sydney for non essential reasons and restricting interactions with people from Greater Sydney.

NSW Health has provided clear guidelines here for the current restrictions that are in place.
