We have another update for riders based on the amendments made to the NSW Public Health Orders.

Stay at home orders have been lifted in Narromine and the City of Orange but extended in the Hilltops LGA.  The local government areas of Byron, Tweed and Kempsey have been added to the stay at home area.

The orders capture the previously announced opening of public swimming pools today, the friends bubble for up to 3 people aged 18 years of age or under who can meet at a place of residence in a stay at home area or an area of concern for recreation or study.  The orders allow the same kinds of retail premises to be open to members of the public in an area of concern, as are allowed in a stay at home area.

Changes to mask rules

Mask rules have also changed. If you have been in a stay at home area or an area of concern in the previous 14 days, you must wear a mask outdoors, in common property areas and everywhere other than at home, for 14 days.  However masks are allowed to be removed by everyone participating in exercise, and there is no longer a requirement that the exercise be strenuous.

“Today’s announcement that community sport will return when NSW reaches 80% vaccination is great news for group rides,” said Bicycle NSW General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.

“In the meantime the change to the mask rules helps to clear up questions about what’s considered a strenuous enough ride to remove your mask,” said Bastien.

We appreciate everyone’s efforts to keep NSW COVID-safe.
