Some good news for families in areas subject to stay at home orders, and more changes on COVID-19 measures.

Stay at Home Orders have been applied to the Oberon LGA. The Snowy Monaro LGA will lockdown for a week starting at 3pm today.  Stay at home orders will be extended in Menindee for a further seven days and in Wilcannia until 11th October.  Stay at home orders will lift from tomorrow, Friday 1st October in the Mid-Western Regional, Hilltops and Walgett LGAs.  They will also lift in the Central Darling Shire Council with the exceptions of Wilcannia and Menindee.

Face to face learning

For families under stay at home orders, preparing for the return of face to face learning, the Premier has announced this will be brought forward.  The staggered return will begin from the 18th of October, rather than the 25th. Now is a great time to check over your bike and practice the ride to school route for your family.

“During lockdown riding rates have increased, and we hope this means more children will be able to ride safely to school,” said Bicycle NSW General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.

“We remind all road users of the need to take care around schools, especially at pick-up and drop-off times,” said Bastien.
