To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, restrictions have been extended across NSW to keep people safe.

Following yesterday’s article where we explained that Tamworth had been placed under stay at home orders for 7 days, the Northern Rivers was added later in the afternoon.  This means that Ballina, Byron, City of Lismore and Richmond Valley Local Government areas have been placed under the same lockdown measures as Greater Sydney, for at least the next 7 days.

“Most people in NSW are now subject to COVID-19 measures, but all of us can still ride our bikes,” said Bicycle NSW General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.

“Again, a little reminder to everyone who cycles to work to remember to say so when you are filling out your Census tonight,” said Bastien.

Bicycle NSW is not in the position to provide individual information. If you would like further clarification any COVID-19 restrictions, please visit the NSW Health website, the updated health orders or contact Service NSW on 13 77 88.

The fines for not wearing a mask have increased from $200 to $500, and people who have medical reasons not to wear a mask must carry evidence of this.
