As the COVID-19 situation develops across NSW, Bicycle NSW wants to help people keep bike riding if they are able.

We know many of you are still riding your bikes outside, whether to avoid mass gatherings on public transport or to keep your mind and body healthy. However with the current social distancing in place, we recommend against riding in groups unless it’s the family members you live with.

Routes You Can Ride By Yourself

We have mapped over 300 rides across NSW so you can find a ride in your local area. We do recommend riding routes your comfortable with in your area.

If you've now got some extra time up your sleeves, why not increase your bike mechanical knowledge? We've got some easy resources and videos here to help pass the time.

We want you to enjoy the fresh air and the feeling of being outside on your bike.

Virtual Ride From London To Paris

Your upcoming charity ride may have been cancelled but that doesn’t mean there aren’t others to support through a virtual ride.

Meet You In Paris is a community bike ride involving people all over the world. The annual ride is a fundraising event for Sarz Sanctuary, a support organisation for people suffering traumatic grief after the sudden death of a loved one. Sarz Sanctuary was founded by Mark and Julie Wallace after their 21-year-old daughter, Sara Zelenak, was murdered in the June 2017 London terror attacks.

Meet You In Paris is an inclusive event welcoming anyone with a pair of wheels, from exercise junkies to office workers, athletes and wheelchair users.

Participants ride at their own pace, in their own neighbourhood, or even on a stationary bike. While the physical ride has been cancelled this year as a result of COVID-19, the virtual ride is still going ahead and it's perfect to do by yourself.

The Meet You In Paris challenge is to ride a minimum of 350 km before the end of June 2020.

Virtual Bike Riding With Your Mates

With many bike riding events being cancelled, Koa Sports offers you an alternative to enjoy with your mates online.

In 2019 Koa Sports ran a pilot program with Zwift to run a league for members. This enabled them to lead challenges for bike riders in the comforts of their own home, in front of the TV.

The league has many online functions:

  • Training indoors with qualified coaches.
  • Racing indoors.
  • Live broadcast through facebook, twitch, youtube.
  • The ability to create a small online team to engage with friends.

League participation is free, and Koa promises there are no catches at all.

They genuinely want to engage people to continue to exercise, get fit and healthy and continue to LOVE cycling.

They’ve been testing and adapting the league for many months and they're ready!

We encourage you to continue bike riding for your own health, but in line with Federal and State Governments health advice. Remember to keep up to date with NSW Health and follow their protocols in relation to COVID-19.
