Bicycle NSW wishes to convey its condolences to the family and friends of the boy who died riding his bike to school this morning in Raymond Terrace.

The 15 year old boy was riding his bike along Mount Hall Road before crossing at the intersection at Clyde Circuit, where the school bus hit him outside Irrawang High School.  The boy was a year 10 student at the school.

In spite of the best efforts of paramedics he died at the scene.  Police are investigating the collision and students and staff are being offered counselling and support.

“Bicycle NSW wishes to express its condolences for this rider, his family, friends and school community,” said Bicycle NSW General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.

“We remind everyone to take extra care around schools, especially at peak times and when traffic or local road features may obscure the view of children,” said Bastien.
