Our free guided ride with Mike Tomalaris attracted a big group of eager participants!
Transport Mutual Credit Union in partnership (TMCU) with Bicycle NSW got together for a family friendly social bike ride through the scenic Olympic Park precinct on Sunday 18th June.
Tour de France broadcasting guru and bike advocate Mike Tomalaris entertained riders with some great anecdotes from decades of Tour de France coverage. He led the group around the precinct's fabulous shared paths for approximately an hour, ending the ride with a free coffee and snack at the Waterview Cafe.
Riders Praised the Event
The event attracted a large group of riders from all over Sydney and beyond with members of the group praising the event saying,
"It was a hugely fun if cool morning riding around the Homebush Olympic precinct with a diverse group of folks lead by Peter McLean of Bicycle NSW, Mike 'Tommo' Tomalaris and Anthony Dann of Transport Mutual Credit Union, the event sponsor.
After a brisk dozen klms we relaxed, ate & chatted (courtesy of Transport Mutual Credit Union) in Bicentennial Park. (I was so busy enjoying myself I forgot to get any pics!)
Tommo gave a great talk and he was enthusiastic about the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail, the Northern Rivers Rail Trail and rail trails on general. Thanks Mike!
