Police are investigating a fatal hit and run that took place around 4:45 today in Lidcombe.  Bicycle NSW wishes to convey its condolences to the family and friends of the rider.

A man died after he was hit by a car near the intersection of Harry Avenue and Maud Street, Lidcombe today.  The man has not been formally identified and Auburn Police have established a crime scene and are investigating.

The vehicle failed to stop after the incident, and police are calling for assistance in locating it, or the driver.

“We are appalled and saddened by this death and wish to share our condolences on behalf of Bicycle NSW and our members with the family and friends of the rider,” said Bicycle NSW General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.

“We urge anyone with information about that happened to speak with police,” said Bastien.
